A relaxing desktop image featuring a subtle gradient in six flavors. Making a good looking gradient is not as simple as you probably think. What I did here consists mainly of using a noise filter, limited colors and noisy compression to eliminate banding.

I use a 1920 x 1200 resolution monitor, its like a giant lightbulb in my room so I developed these images to act like mood lighting. I've been using the 'Ocean' desktop for a few years now, blue is the deepest color, instead of seeming to project into a space it seems to provide space.

I am an artist

My name is Brian and I am an artist. By trade; illustration and design.

I have an Associates in Applied Arts from the Art Institute of Dallas where I learned the basics of Graphic Design, Photography & Illustration. I further developed these skills at Big Hand Productions in Dallas and added to them Animation. At Two´s Company in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, I learned Digital Image Manipulation and gained experience Concepting & Copywriting. At Cool Communications Online in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Website Design & Production was my main business. Since then I've been working freelance and on contract, employing all of the above techniques including and most commonly Logo Design and the design and production of Event Posters.

I produced this site manually, there is no blogging software or web development application behind this production; basically only Textpad, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. If you understand these things I invite you to have a look at the markup, its occasionally artfully done too.
